This book was originally written for my niece when she was in her early teen years. It was December with Christmas drawing closer by the day and I could not think of a gift that would please her. This was when the idea of an instruction manual came to mind – a guide to help ease the pains of growing up in a world that even as an adult, I still don’t always understand. With the decision made, I began to write and soon noticed the signs of true inspiration. Properly understood, this is not a credit to the writer. Nevertheless it is what every writer hopes for. The words began to flow in that special way that felt as if the book was writing itself.
